A NOTE FROM GRETCHEN –
“My previous company-Minyards Food Stores, Inc served all communities in the DFW area. My father, Buddy Minyard, taught us that everyone had to eat and deserves respect. I have personally been involved in many communities, fundraising for groups, volunteering and attending events to celebrate these groups and communities. I believe in giving back to the community in which I live.
The strengths of Dallas College are people – the students, the staff and the administrators. We had a saying at Minyards, “Our people make the difference.” I feel this is true in any successful place of business and academia.
I have had the pleasure of serving on many boards over the years. Currently, I serve on the Baylor Scott & White Hospital-Dallas, board member of Highgrounds Advisors, board member Leukemia Texas, board member Oak Hill Academy, and board member of Dallas Mavericks Foundation. Through these boards, I have learned not only to work with a variety of people, but also many aspects of our community, finance, education, and non profit organizations.”
